Cleanse Your Mind
We clean everything else. We purge our spaces. Why not take the time to cleanse your mind? Reality is built on our perception. What we choose to accept and believe defines our surroundings and our existence. So, it is time to do some work.Â
We have spoken about shadow work before, and you can check out that post here. Shadow work is important as it helps you to recognize change or accept the dark pieces of yourself and confront your trauma. Whether you call it shadow work or something else, it is important. When we talk about cleansing your mind, we are talking about something a little less deep. It can be as complex as shadow work or as simple as checking yourself talk. Read that post here. The point is to actively and frequently check in with yourself.Â
We are in charge of our own realities. They can be as magical and as dreary as we allow them to be. If we focus on the bad, worse will occur. If we focus on the silver lining, we will see more of the good around us, which we need in this day and age. There is a balance however that we must achieve. Just as pessimism will drive you down toxic positivity is also real, annoying, and unhealthy. If things are bad, we need to acknowledge it and find the good, then focus on what we can actually control.
The process of cleansing your mind is a task at which you must strive. It is too easy to get lost in self-doubt and other opinions. The first step is to realize that you need a reset once there we can dive in.
The Process: Beginning to cleanse your mind.
Now that we have accepted that we need a cleanse, we can begin the work. First, we need to identify the cause of what is bringing us down. We need to identify it in our hearts and minds. Then set to correct it. This can be obtained through meditation. With all the rush of today’s life we need to meditate. That may be quite different for you than it is for me. For me, I need to get outside. I need to put my feet on the ground. (grounding) That or go for a drive with good music or a walk-in silence. The answers we seek usually come to us when we shut off all the distractions.
Alot of times the answer we see is not the answer that we desire. Now we have a choice, do we listen or try to make it better? Do you choose to ignore it?
I want you to think about every intrusive thought that you had today and how it affected you. Do any of them have validation? If not, I want you to lock it out of your brain. Write them on a piece of paper and tear it up, stating that these words hold no validity or power over you. If it does hold any stock, what will you do to fix it? Write these down too, but change them in to what you want them to be. Such as a thought about you being weak, you would then write down you are strong. Read it out loud and burn it (in a fire safe way) to release this truth into the universe and remember to do the work to become stronger.
Try this on a periodic basis or whenever you have an intrusive thought. See if it helps. We need to take stock of our thoughts. Once we are able to identify and dispel thoughts that have no stock, such as the opinions of others, we truly are able to set ourselves free and work on cleansing other parts of our lives.Â
Our mind is where it all starts. We can try to make strives ANY where else first but if the mind is not ready or right, we will fall back into old habits, we have to be ready to let go of what needs to be let go of in order to truly transform into what we were meant to be and the individuals we want to be. NO ONE IS IN YOUR WAY BUT YOU. Get it together, cleanse your Mind and your life for the best you, you want to be.Â
