Creating your inner sanctum

Your internal Power Hub

Blessed be my loves. I wanted to make this post about creating your inner sanctum.

I am a firm believer in “if you believe it, then it will be”. That is why the way you speak to yourself or the way you think about a situation becomes real. Check out our post on self-talk.

I mean think about a time you had a bad day. It just didn’t start right and then your day got progressively worse. Why? Because you dwelled on it. You woke up late, rushed to get ready, spilled your coffee, got mad, and missed your train. It just keeps building up. NOW, think about it this way. You woke up late, be grateful you got a few extra z’s and you woke up. Then carry on. I bet things will go differently.

That being said, in general, just trying to find the good or the one thing you can be grateful for when it seems like the world is falling apart will greatly change your perspective. In the world that we live in, there is a lot of darkness and a lot of light. Choose to focus on the light.

Keep your thoughts positive, especially about yourself and your life. Those thoughts will help you to create the world and life you desire.

Creating an inner sanctum:

Let’s create our space. This is very similar to creating physical space. We all have that spot, where we physically can go, and that, well that is the spot. It’s safe. It’s home. We are going to make that spot in our mind’s eye.

First, we are going to answer a few questions:

  1. What is the feel you want this space to have?
  2. Are we inside or outside?
  3. What is in the space?
  4. Are you creating it from imagination, or do you have inspiration?
  5. Why are you creating this space?

Answer these questions to the best of your ability, before you begin the process of creating.

Let's begin.

Do you have your answers? Perfect. Let’s begin.

First, find a comfy space to meditate. Set the vibe. Light candles, incense, whatever you need to be at peace and decorate. Breathe.

Now, take a few breaths and ease into your meditation. Visualize a white canvas and see that expanding into a room with 4 white walls.

(If you answered inside to question 2 – see the window placements and paint starting to fill the walls.)

(If you answered outside to question 2 – see those walls falling away and the nature of your choice filling in)

Continue your breathing work. Breathe in and out at a steady calm pace. Take your time with your space. Focus on every detail, shade, and shadow.

Once you have completed a section or a layer of the space. Roll yourself out of your mediation and return to the physical.

You are not done...

You have begun laying the foundation. Try to take a few minutes to lay out the space or at least visit every day for 7 days. This should solidify the image in your mind’s eye. Mind you it may take longer, or you may be done in a day, that is based on you.

Once you have your inner sanctum locked in your mind like a memory, you can visit it whenever you need to, whether it be for meditation, other spiritual or ritual work or just to calm down in a stressful situation. This space is now there for you, wherever you are.
