30 days of Kicking
My training lately has been hit or miss due to life changes. So, I decided to challenge myself and ease back into it. I have always been the person to jumpstart something and dive in headfirst and fast, but this momentum only lasted a week or two. I was sick of that.
I am over-starting and not finishing. This goes for workouts and so much more. Therefore, I created this kicking challenge to get back into the swing of martial arts. Something simple that I could remain consistent with.
This simple 30-day kicking workout consists of 45 – 55 kicks a day with a rest day every 3 days. I chose to focus on the basic kicks because every other advanced kick stems from these basic kicks.
Also, during this challenge, I started to feel stronger and more confident in my kicks. My balance improved and I noticed my stomach doing down. I was initially surprised before I remembered that the core is the center of every kick, then it all made sense.
Remember that consistency is the key to becoming better at anything. If your consistency has been lacking – or you want to get into some kicking before you start at your martial arts school, try this out.
I have been kicking for years, and I still found this helpful. Whenever you get off track it is always best to restart with the basics.
