It’s a New Year…again.

I had intended this post for the first of the year but was looking for something profound to say. I found nothing, so regardless, here we go, and happy New Year…again!

It seems that each year, it’s the same thing, new year new me. That’s what people everywhere say. They say this is going to be my year. And it’s the same goals, lose weight, get healthy, and accomplish this. I am no different. My New Year resolutions have been the same for at least 5+ years. Is this you? Are you repeating New Year’s resolutions past?

Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to reinvent yourself each year. There is nothing wrong with wanting to or keeping a healthy lifestyle. But if that’s the case, let’s work on consistency versus waiting till the end of the year and doing a hard restart.

So let’s first look at 2023 in review. Let’s not. 2023 feels like it didn’t even exist. But the past is the past so let’s move on to this New Year…Again.

What is 2024 going to look like? Well, hopefully for me it’s better than this first week. I rang in the new year sick, and the sick is lingering. I am hoping that by the 2nd week, I am better and can get on with this year.

How did your New Year go? Did you stay up late? Was it a party or just another day?

One of these years, I’m going to go to bed early and wake up on 1/1 and actually do something… rather than sleep away the first.

New Year’s Resolutions

This year, I plan on seeing more posts about the journey, training, and magic-making.

Like I said my goals for the last 5 years have been essentially the same. Maybe this is … the year. Here we go:

1. 180 splits – I took a hiatus from formal training and general training so we have been slacking.

2. Lose that weight – I am not overweight, but I am not at my ideal weight. And it is more toning it up and being able to work with my weight than anything else.

3. Read more – audiobooks are my friend. My goal is 2 books a month, at least.

4. Learn a language – Spanish, here I come. I will learn this language this year. Can you say Rosetta Stone?

5. Meditate more – simple enough right?

6. Publish.

What are your goals for 2024? Share in the comments below.

Let’s make something of this year, even if it’s just small goals or getting on track. Let’s affirm the life we want this year.

Happy New Year!!

Keep kicking, and be Magic.
